Request Audio Recording

(Please Note: Digital audio recordings may not be available for all court proceedings. Once a request is submitted, the requesting party must verify that they are authorized to receive the audio or must request authorization from the presiding officer.   will determine if the ordered audio is available. If ordered audio is not available, a refund will be applied.)

While placing a request, you must agree to the Circuit and Superior Courts of Marion County Indiana's Limited Use Agreement.  If authorized to receive it/them, there will be no charge for the requested recording.

Digital audio recordings are made from the original master recording of a court proceeding and are available for verification of testimony only. They are not certified for court use and may not be used as the official court record in place of an official transcript. The duplication or broadcast of digital audio recordings is strictly prohibited.

To request a copy of a digital audio recording of a court proceeding, simply complete the secure online form at right and submit the request.  You must create a user account in TheRecordXchange to complete your request.  Recordings will be made available in a  streaming format only when you are signed in to TheRecordXchange.

Presiding Officer

Please select the presiding officer for your hearing from the dropdown list. If the officer does not appear in the list, begin typing the officer name. For instance if the officer's name is Hon John Doe, you will see "Add John Doe" appear as you type. Click on the word "Add" to add the new officer information.

Case Name

Enter the case name such as Smith vs Brown

Check box if ANY portion of the hearing(s) listed has been ruled confidential by a Judge.

If I am authorized to receive the requested audio, and if the requested audio is available, the Court will provide an electronic recording of the requested court proceeding for the limited purpose of verification of testimony.  ANY BROADCAST OF SUCH ELECTRONIC RECORDING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED BY LAW.

Recordings are prepared from the original digital recording of court proceedings and are certified as a true copies.  However, recordings are not certified for court use.  The audio can be streamed or downloaded and played with standard media tools that work with an MP3 file.
